A BRIEF PORTRAIT OF PANORAMA LEISURE GROUP
Focusing in FOUR business pillars
PT. Panorama Sentrawisata Tbk., established in 1995, trading as the PANORAMA LEISURE GROUP (PLG) with origins dating back from 1972 has developed into one of the leading multi-functional and Indonesia’s most dynamic, integrated and progressive leisure organization today.
Over the years, Panorama Leisure Group has been steadily and systematically developing its position as the leading leisure company, by strategically focusing its operation on four pillars of each target business units, namely INBOUND, OUTBOUND, TRANSPORTATION, and MICE (Meeting-Incentive-Convention-Exhibition), known as Four-Pillars. An integrated portfolio of business, complementary yet well diversified but all have focus in tourism businesses.
Major total turnover is generated by OUTBOUND business pillar, making Panorama among the outbound market leader, followed by INBOUND that makes Panorama among the Inbound market leader. Supported by more than 200 deluxe coaches operating in Jakarta, Semarang, Solo, Jogyakarta, and Bali, making White Horse Deluxe Coach to be the market leader in tourism TRANSPORTATION, while MICE pillar contribute some significant turnover as well.
With workforce that numbered more than 1,600 full-time employees in 2009, the Panorama Leisure Group is active in the some different target market segments: Leisure Travel, Destination Management, Corporate Travel Management, Corporate Incentive, Ticket and Tours Consolidator, Retail Travel Agents, Tourism Transportation and MICE.
Having been nationally awarded started with the first “Bronze Palm Tree Award” from Jakarta Tourism Board back in 1979, then “Silver Palm Tree Award” in 1982, followed by the next three “Adikarya Wisata Awards” for 1993, 1994 and 1997, and finally the highest awards: “Adikaryottama Wisata” in 2001. Recently, White Horse also received “Adikarya Wisata Award for Tourism Transportation Category” from the Governor of Jakarta in 2006.
Have also been nationally and internationally awarded after receiving: the “19th Tourism Awards Singapore for being the Most Innovative Marketing Effort by a n Foreign Tour Operator” 2004 from the Singapore Tourism Board; “The Best Foreign Tour Operator” 2004 from the Malaysian Tourism Board; “The Most Valued Partner Award” 2005 from the Singapore Tourism Board, “Superbrands” 2005/2006 voted leading brand by consumers in the research conducted by Synovate Global Market Research Company and achieving a qualifying rating in the grading undertaken by the Superbrands Council; The 8th IMAC-Indonesia’s Most Admired Companies 2008; Two MURI Awards in 2007 & 2008; TTG-Travel & Tourism Gazette Asia’s Travel Awards 2007 & 2008 as The Best Travel Agency in Indonesia; Outstanding Entrepreunership Award 2008 dedicated to Mr. Satrijanto Tirtawisata (BOC member) from The Asia Pacific Entrepreneur; and Entrepreneur of the Year 2008 - Lifetime Achievement Award 2008 dedicated to Mr. Adhi Tirtawisata (the Chairman) from Ernst & Young Indonesia.
Those are in addition to a number of awards and/or nomination that consecutively being received from Airlines Principals, Hotel Principals, Foreign Operators, Global Distribution System, and some others parties. With those acknowledgements, Panorama Leisure aims to be and remain the best established and most successful travel leisure operator, nationally - regionally and internationally.
Background History
Back to 1971, Mr. Adhi Tirtawisata and some friends established their own tours and travel company, named PT. Batemuri Tours; in 1972 he established his own tours and travel company, named PT. Regina Alta Tours, and later in 1974 he left PT. Batemuri Tours in order to concentrate on his own company. In 1975, he changed the company name into PT. Regina Alta Panorama Tours, and using PANORAMA TOURS as its brand name. In 1995, the company getting bigger and turned into a corporation with its 4 pillars of business: (1) the INBOUND Pillar
(2) the OUTBOUND Pillar
(3) the TRANSPORTATION Pillar, and
(4) the MICE Pillar.
PANR Milestones
1995, being a corporation, change of the company name is made to PT. Panorama Sentrawisata and in 2000, changes in the Corporation’s articles of association regarding the increase in (a) authorized, subscribed, paid-up capital, and to act stock split (b) change of the Company’s name to PT. Panorama Sentrawisata Tbk., and (c) approval to plan public offering.
On September 18, 2001, 30% from the total shares were listed on the Jakarta Stock exchange.

In May 31, 2007 PT. Panorama Transportasi became a public company. 30% of its shares were listed on the Jakarta Stock Exchange under the new company name, PT. Panorama Transportasi Tbk. (WEHA).
In July 08, 2008 PT. Destinasi Tirta Nusantara became a public company. 30% of its shares were listed on the Jakarta Stock Exchange under the new company name, PT. Destinasi Tirta Nusantara Tbk. (PDES).
